ABSTRACT

[p. 7] The dynamic character of the sociological publications of Editions Droz and the loyalty of my colleagues Busino and Girod [1] 1 were the two factors which finally led me to agree (as often happens in such cases) to bring together in one volume three disparate papers in sociology, which appeared in ‘Publications of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, University of Geneva’, together with the chapter ‘Explanation in sociology’ from my Introduction à l’épistémologie génétique. (I wish to thank the Presses Universitaires de France who have agreed to the reproduction of this chapter from volume III, which is currently out of print.)
