ABSTRACT
Seeing, and not being seen – vision is complicated in the city. Different fields of perception are opened up by urban forms; different ways of looking coexist and compete. Images pile on top of each other; things are seen – or half-seen – quickly, suddenly. The tops of buildings, reflections in store fronts, the spectacle of crossing the street. In the city, simply, there is so much to see.
