ABSTRACT
In order to come to an understanding of space relations a child must see himself as but one moving object among others situated in a framework of fixed references. That young children do not see themselves in this way and the sequence of development they go through before doing so is illustrated by Piaget in an experiment which involves children in a problem situation related to their own home and school environment.
