The Scope of the Services and the Responsible Authorities in Greater London

FOR the purposes of this study the Welfare Services are taken to be those which are provided by local authorities to give assistance, other than medical and financial, to those needing such assistance through the handicaps of age, or physical, mental or social infirmity. Their financial needs are taken care of by National Insurance and National Assistance, their medical needs by the National Health Service, all nationally administered except part of the Health Service.
