ABSTRACT
The changes described in the last chapter have obviously produced policy changes on behalf of both central and local government in a whole range of different policy arenas. In this chapter, we shall attempt to see how people have reacted to the changes that have taken place around them in the city and how far they are active in city politics and in what ways. In other words, we are concerned here with analysing the ways and means of individual and group participation in city politics.
