ABSTRACT
The cognitive disorders are dysfunctions in the basic elements of intelligence, such as memory, attention, language, calculation, praxis, abstract ability, sequencing, and planning. They also include delirium and dementia. Unlike other psychiatric presentations, the cognitive disorders have no primary state, but are thought always to be secondary to general medical conditions.
