ABSTRACT
ENOUGH HAS BEEN SAID in previous chapters to underline the importance of mobility in the evolution of communities. People must move and goods must be moved, else there could be no city, and many cities could not have achieved greatness had they not been able to draw abundantly and continuously on the surplus population of less urban places.
