ABSTRACT

Janet Rogers was in her second year of teaching and was working with a Year 4 class. She enjoyed her work and had settled into her school well. She was sometimes made conscious that she was living in a fast-changing world when there seemed to be a continuous flow of government edicts and documents requiring new ways of doing things. She was also concerned about climate change and felt that it wasn’t being sufficiently considered in primary schools. She found it hard to fit in all the demands of the National Curriculum and worried that she found it difficult to find time to work with children with special educational needs and the few very able children she had in her class. At the same time, she just loved her job and hoped that life would get a little easier as she grew more experienced.
