ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the training, analysis, and planning (TAP) requirements in detail for an ISO 9000 registration effort. Training is the first step in a registration effort and represents both training, which can be implemented immediately, and education, which provides the intellectual insight to understand and appreciate the entire quality management system, now, and in the future. In this chapter, training and education are used in the same context. Executive management training introduces top management to the advantages, disadvantages, costs, and resources involved with the registration effort. Top management provides the leadership for any registration effort. This comprehensive, Lead Auditor Training, 36-hour course is designed to provide a thorough understanding and knowledge of auditing in accordance with the ISO 10000 series of standards. It focuses on intensive case history studies.
