ABSTRACT
Flattening is evident in the emergence of a hybridized sub/urban public space that catalyzes both public life and economic development through an expanded public realm. These spaces are created through the use of hybridized urban and suburban strategies, including public/private partnerships, intense spatial and/or event programming, and progressive parking approaches, which together frame an active and accessible collective life for sub/urban constituents. 1
