ABSTRACT

It is hardly an understatement to suggest that no single issue hasmore transformed the world of libraries and information delivery services than the impact of technology. Coincidentally, in recent years, more ink has been spilled in the cause of the Internet and its related subjects of filtering and censorship than any other single issue appearing in the library literature. A veritable library of material has been written on the subject. There is little I could add to the arguments. The library manager may consult the bibliography for a selection of books and articles on the subject. However, it would be of great benefit for the library manager to read the literature on a weekly basis to keep up on the subject. Professional publications such as Library Journal, American Libraries, Library Administration and Management, and Library Hotline are required reading both in print and, if available, in their digital formats.
