ABSTRACT
Although they were not labeled as such until recently, psychedelic drugs have been with us for a long time. The use of cannabis, for example, is at least as old as the use of opium in the Middle East. All parts of the plant - seeds, leaves, and resin - were used medicinally, ceremon ially, and recreation ally before the dawn of recorded history.
