ABSTRACT
Clara feels everything around her is menacing and threatening her life. For more than three months, she has been afraid to go to sleep, fearful that someone will enter her bedroom and kill her; she eats less and less because she suspects that all her food and beverages have either been poisoned or contaminated. She insists on preparing her own food and checks all beverages provided by her parents. Sometimes she smells everything first; then every bottle or glass is carefully inspected as she suspiciously checks their contents for strange objects which may have been placed within.
