During the past century, substantial interest has been focused on the odd communications that schizophrenics sometimes produce. The following two examples are representative:
Mter reading these samples, it is easy to see why the consensus of most writers on this subject has been that, despite the frequently lamented unreliability of the diagnosis, schizophrenic or at least disordered communications are relatively easy to recognize (Hunt & Jones, 1958).
