ABSTRACT

The inferential process consists of the various interpretive steps the examiner takes in transforming the raw material from the Rorschach test (and other tests) into a complete, well-organized, clinically meaningful, informative testing report. It is the most difficult and challenging aspect of the testing, requiring that the examiner have an understanding of test theory, personality theory, and psychopathology. Theory and practice converge at this point. It is important that the examiner develop for himself or herself a testing-report outline with implicit subheadings that can serve as reference points for organizing the welter of test data. One possible report format was presented in chapter 3 and will be applied in this chapter.
