ABSTRACT

In chapter 15, I discussed, from a clinical perspective, several aspects of the assessment situation, such as the frame, the patient–examiner relationship, and test responses that could be used in making treatment recommendations and treatment predictions. I also referred to specific studies in which the Rorschach had been employed to predict particular treatment events, including the capacity to benefit from intensive psychotherapy (Hatcher and Krohn, 1980), prognosis for hospital treatment (Frieswyk and Colson, 1980), premature termination (Hilsenroth and Handler, 1995; Horner and Diamond, 1996), and treatment outcome (Carlsson et al., 1996; Lindfors, 1996; Meyer and Handler, 1996).
