ABSTRACT

My local grocer stopped me recently as I was about to leave his shop. He wanted to know whether I could help him find funding for an idea he had for an app. It seems that everyone wants to be an entrepreneur. Silicon Valley, the Boston 128 Corridor, Israel, Singapore—these are places where a person can feel that everyone, from the local grocery store owner to an MBA student, is intent on becoming an entrepreneur. There exists a feeling that anything is possible given a good idea, a certain amount of effort, and a willingness to expose oneself to risk.
