ABSTRACT

The solution to the problem is reached through steps that lead to a reorganization of the field. The components of the problem and their solution can be represented by an equation. It is possible to represent the problem using an equation and think of systems of psychic equations as being ways of obtaining solutions, even in difficult cases. On one hand, the systems of psychic equations highlight how the clinician, even if only implicitly, follows methodologically consolidated procedures. And on the other hand, they show what the steps are for getting to the solution.

Some examples are given from the wide range that might present themselves to the clinician. The chapter concludes by defining the characteristics of an intensive therapy.
