ABSTRACT

Ever since the reform and opening up, China has experienced or is going through profound reforms in its economic system and social structure, dramatic changes in benefit patterns and serious social stratum differentiation. The great transformations in China’s social structure will inevitably lead to significant changes in ideology and social psychology of its society members. Economic endurance refers to the affordability of consumption and expenses that are acceptable by the urban subaltern group. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, over the past five years, medical reform has been the center of attention for Chinese civilians. Political endurance refers to the extent of psychological acceptance and endurance of the urban subaltern group toward the behavior of political figures and political phenomenon. The mental health of the urban subaltern group is the reflection of their living conditions. As for the mental state of hatred for the rich, most members in the group do not obviously hate rich people.
