ABSTRACT

Practitioners have to be acquainted and familiar with all the variables shaping behavioral patterns, and has to develop the capability of understanding which ones are more salient and should be considered. Moral motivations are the object of analysis of most research on responsible citizens. Investigating responsible citizens and the determinants of sustainable behaviors represents a complex task, requiring adequate knowledge of different theoretical frameworks and high analytical skills so as to interpret the specific features of the behavior at hand. An innovative model provides a framework for practitioners to adopt an evaluation perspective on sustainable behaviors that can be summarized in two words: holistic and flexible. The new interpretative approach represents an attempt to build bridges between different strands of research, advocating a flexible approach where factors stemming from different models can be integrated in one overarching framework.
