ABSTRACT

Astrology is probably the most widely practiced of all cold reading practices, starting with daily/weekly/monthly/yearly horoscopes and ending with individual astrological charts. Its ancient roots and their accompanying beliefs have not been adapted to modern astronomy. Research studies claiming to support the validity of astrological predictions conducted by the French Michel Gauquelin – who devoted his entire life to the study of astrology and ultimately committed suicide – has not been successfully replicated in subsequent studies, which revealed that Gauquelin's data had been manipulated.
