ABSTRACT

This chapter analyses some of the most common jargon in the International Standards Organization series and offers some further commentary on the interpretation of specific words and phrases. It presents a selected number of terms for the exact and complete vocabulary as the actual standard is given in American National Standards Institute/American Society for Quality Control A8402-1194. Conceptual model of interacting activities that influence the quality of a product or service in the various stages ranging from the identification of needs to the assessment of whether these needs have been satisfied. The continuous monitoring and verification of the status of procedures, methods, conditions, processes, products, and services, and analysis of records in relation to stated references to ensure that specified requirements for quality are being met. Grade always reflects a planned and/or recognized difference in requirements. The quality policy is only one element of the corporate policy and is authorized only by top management.
