ABSTRACT

The first thing I discover when I return to Seoul after a month away from Korea in December 2002 is that the E-6 (entertainer’s) visa to Korea has temporarily been suspended for Russian and Filipino nationals. The combined effects of bad press (including the Time Magazine story that featured Rosie), pressure from the Philippines and Russian Embassies and several meetings between Father Glenn and the chief of the Seoul Police, amongst other efforts, finally produce this dramatic measure.
