Religious Groups as Political Interest Groups

When the vast majority of interest groups are advocating public policies which will benefit them, it is important that we have strong groups that advocate on behalf of others. Furthermore, amid the self-interest of policymaking and the battles over legislative and regulatory details, it is important that we have groups articulating a political program founded on ethical and religious convictions.
