ABSTRACT
In this chapter I shall discuss the work of these two important figures in British art therapy, both of whom began their professional lives as commercial artists and ‘accidentally’ found themselves working with patients, which led them to abandon commercial art in favour of another occupation, not yet defined, but later to be known as ‘art therapy’.
