An introduction to the Law of Evidence

This introductory chapter deals with the preliminaries: important definitions, the distinction between relevance and admissibility and the nature of judicial discretion. Finally it focuses briefly on human rights, identifying those rules of evidence which are most likely to be affected by the Human Rights Act (HRA) 1998.
