ABSTRACT
Having examined seawater structure and motion in Chapters 2 and 3, it is now appropriate to take account of the relationships between the oceans and the Earth's geology. Here the aim is to examine the key features of crust-ocean interchange, which is largely related to the role played by plate tectonics in oceanography.
