ABSTRACT
The colours of a sunset are creations of our eye and brain. A beam of sunlight is scattered by water droplets; some of the beam is deflected in our direction and becomes part of the vastly complex pattern of energy that always surrounds us. The miracle of vision is that we can use this energy to construct an image of the world around us.
