ABSTRACT
In this chapter, I discuss three additional approaches to an understanding of psychopathic behavior, the psychoanalytic approach, which I find intractably mysterious, the neurochemical approach, which appears able to account for an important subspecies of “dystempered” psychopathy involving impulsive aggression, and a largely speculative proposal of my own, the hysterical psychopath.
