ABSTRACT

Faculty at small institutions with limited budgets often have a difficult time obtaining adequate materials and equipment for demonstrating psychological phenomena in the classroom and laboratory. Although many resources, such as the journal Teaching of Psychology, textbook instructor's manuals, and teaching activities handbooks (e.g. Benjamin. Daniel. & Brewer, 1985; Benjamin & Lowman. 1981; Makosky. Whittemore, & Rogers. 1988), present numerous ideas for inexpensive demonstrations, the time needed to construct such demonstrations often precludes their use. The demonstrations and classroom activities, therefore, remain locked on the pages of journals and books, existing only as dreams for too many faculty.
