ABSTRACT

What follows is a constructivist case report entitled “How are we protecting our children: A constructivist study of one family’s experience with protective services and foster care.” Audit trail material is included at the conclusion of the case report. This study, as presented, does not have the type of methodological introduction that would be necessary for reporting these results in a professional journal or as a part of an edited text. There is no description of the methods used in the inquiry process, including analysis and rigor. However, this inquiry did undergo a successful audit, so there is evidence that the constructivist process was within the bounds of acceptable constructivist practice. Instead of serving as an example of rigor, the case study is provided as an example of how data collected and analyzed at various levels can be deconstructed and reconstructed to create a story with some lessons learned.
