ABSTRACT

This field trip is not for students; it’s for you. Sometimes students get “under your skin,” and despite your best efforts you are unable to get past your irritation. If only you had a break to regroup! When you reach this point, it’s time for an in-house field trip. Before such an incident occurs, however, set up a “field trip” agreement with a neighboring teacher to send the student to his or her classroom with a “note.” Per your agreement, when the student arrives with the note, the partner teacher delays a response to give you the break time you need. Remember that the trips must be previously agreed on and that students are sent only to supervised areas within the school boundary.
