ABSTRACT

View each day of teaching as a journey. Think of your teaching as a long trip. Though the destination is a great distance down the road, you will encounter so many new experiences that half of the fun is getting there. With that in mind, be sure to make stops along the way, see the sights, experience what different places offer, and enjoy the ride. How important is the arrival when you didn’t get anything out of the journey? It's in your head

If you change your mind-set from summer countdown to daily appreciations, the atmosphere of your classroom will change. Students will observe that you value teachable moments more than just getting through the day to the last bell.
