ABSTRACT

The first year of teaching is stressful because you are not only learning the curriculum, student needs, and systems within the school (i.e., who to go to for what) while developing relationships with parents, but you also are learning to be a good teacher. Learning to teach is like learning to ride a bike; at first you have to concentrate on so many tasks that you do not really enjoy the ride. Yet you keep working at mastering cycling until, after a while, the ride becomes easier and you enjoy yourself more.
