ABSTRACT

Classroom newsletters are an important form of home–school communications that need to go out on a regular basis. Though a weekly newsletter is preferable, its frequency depends on time constraints and whether students can assist in the newsletter’s production. Assess your teaching load, and set a weekly, biweekly, or monthly schedule. Then follow it. Parents need to know when to expect a newsletter. Send home the initial newsletter the first day of school. Introduce yourself, perhaps include your picture, and give an outline of classroom expectations and plans for the year ahead.
