Though there is no harm in allowing children to joke around with one another, there comes a point when teasing switches from light-hearted joking to cruel insults. It is important for you to step in when the behavior moves to an unacceptable level and let students know that the behavior must stop immediately. If it continues after your intervention, you need to implement consequences appropriate to the situation and age of the student.
