ABSTRACT

You teach; you are a communicator. You communicate information, ideas, plans, expectations, news, and requests. You communicate to people and with people—in individual meetings with students, conferences with parents, conversations with colleagues, and in newsletters, notes, emails, and phone calls with the constituents of your school community. As a multitasking, multi-level, minute-to-minute communicator, you need to communicate efficiently and effectively. Managing communications goes hand in hand with managing your classroom, student behavior, and paperwork.
