ABSTRACT
Organization. Designate a specific area where homework is placed each morning, such as one basket for math, one for science, etc. Teach students that their morning routine includes placing homework in the proper baskets before the first bell rings. Also have a specific folder for homework that goes home: Tape closed the two short sides of an ordinary file folder and have each student decorate one. Work not completed during the day is put in the folder and taken home. At the end of the day, remind students to take home the folders and to put their finished homework back into the folder for return to school.
