ABSTRACT

By now we have gone on quite a journey together. We truly believe we, as authors, have learned as much from this journey as have you, the reader. We have learned to work together and recognize the individual contribu tions each of us makes. In addition, we have learned to look at abnormal behavior from a myriad of angles. This "multiple perspectives" approach makes understanding abnormal psychology more complex but it also of fers a more accurate representation of what mental illness is really all about. So many comments stand out in our minds about the cases in this book. But several points strike us as the most important. Let us share these with you and stress why we think they are important.
