ABSTRACT
The assessment, study and treatment of memory disorders is part of neuropsychology, the subdiscipline of psychology concerned with the relationship between brain damage and psychological processes. The term is sometimes used more broadly to include any scientific investigation of the nervous system’s role in controlling behaviour. In this book, however, the term will be used in its more restrictive sense.
