ABSTRACT
Up to this point, the outpatient group has been the prototype group for the managed care model. However, outpatient groups of short duration are indicated for only a portion of the mentally ill population. In this section, three different aspects of group treatment under managed care will be discussed in order to offer some thoughts about how best to incorporate the treatment of other patients into the managed care model.
