ABSTRACT
All professional groups in human services have made continuing education an important priority. Counselors are expected not only to stay current, but to progress in skill development and add to their knowledge base. The first part of this training program, Chapters 1 through 4, is intended to help a person obtain the background for sexuality counseling. After the counselor has the necessary information about sexuality, the required counseling skills, comfortable attitudes and values, and a knowledge of professional issues, then is the time to assess what else is needed. The remainder of this book assumes the above and focuses on specific sexuality related counseling techniques.
