ABSTRACT

Many people in our society can talk about sexuality, but few describe their actual sexual behavior. When individuals are asked, “Do you have a sexual dysfunction?” the majority say they don’t; however, if interviewed about their sex life, a large proportion reveal “diagnosable” sexual problems. Is counseling always needed? Not necessarily, because some people choose to maintain the status quo. Also many lovemaking and response difficulties are resolved through self-help reading, coaching from the media, and experience with partners. Certainly many people find increasing sexual satisfaction with maturity.
