ABSTRACT

The following premises are to be regarded as a frame of reference within which the counselor will find an individual approach. Although problems of individual families or parent-teacher relationships may be similar, they are never exactly alike. Furthermore, different people will react differently to the counselor’s personality, mannerisms, and style. However, some basic considerations are outlined which a counselor should take into account—principles which are safe, contain no risk of offending the client nor diminishing the effectiveness of his/her counseling, and are consistent with Adlerian Psychology.
