ABSTRACT
People who choose to work in the service of a more sustainable world are change agents-a big, multidimensional job description. This work requires understanding environmental, economic, and social systems and their interconnectedness and the ability to think at multiple scales in the face of very big issues. It requires the ability to communicate clearly, listen, and collaborate. Complex systems are unpredictable and connected, and so this work requires courage, including the courage to step outside of labels and disciplines and engage in bigpicture thinking. It requires humility, authentic appreciation for diverse ways of thinking and being in the world, and a recognition that we are all in this together.
