ABSTRACT
Criminal justice researchers and practitioners want to know the cause of everything. What is the cause of crime? What causes a person to become a serial murderer? Who caused this accident? The list goes on and on, and we never seem to find an answer that satisfies all of us. Here is a true story that demonstrates one of my student’s frustrations with finding the cause of crime. Maybe you have felt the same way.
