ABSTRACT

To get started, connect the interactive whiteboard (IWB) to the computer and then turn on the computer – most boards need to be connected to the computer first so that the computer registers the presence of the IWB during its startup procedure. IWB presentations also provide a way of making other resources accessible to the whole class. Video files and sound files can be added to most presentation software and can be played directly from the IWB, without the need to find additional hardware. The Windows Sound Recorder can be used to record sound files, and some types of IWB have their own sound recording software. Anything that can be produced on an IWB can be saved for future use, or printed out and duplicated for the class. Creating presentations is probably the most time-consuming aspect of using the IWB.
