ABSTRACT

This chapter gives an overview of some useful common functions for readers who are inexperienced with Microsoft software. Slides can be annotated during a presentation with a freehand pen available in the PowerPoint software, which could be useful to those using just a data projector. In PowerPoint, a lot of its functions can be found in the ‘Insert’ menu, including New Slide, Text Box and, under the ‘Picture’ heading, ClipArt, WordArt and Autoshape. PowerPoint also has a number of different formats for printing, from one slide per page to nine per page. PowerPoint presentations can also be linked directly to the internet by using hyperlinks. Finally, PowerPoint presentations also have the capacity to loop, that is to run continuously. To run the display, click the mouse or tap on the screen with the pen/finger.
