ABSTRACT

This chapter describes various techniques useful for producing lesson materials or using them in the classroom. One of the simplest ways to start using an interactive whiteboard (IWB) is to use an existing document, perhaps reformatted for whole-class use, and to use the IWB tools to annotate it. The annotations can then be saved separately or with the document for future use or to print out. This technique is particularly useful for lessons where original text is to be analysed. Digital photos, clipart, diagrams or images scanned into the computer from a textbook or the web can be very effective, as can simple diagrams created using the Draw toolbar in MS Office applications or Paint. Another straightforward use of IWB software is to facilitate copying and pasting content from one page to another.
