ABSTRACT

Learning information and communication technology (ICT) with Science is one of a series of ICT books: Teaching ICT through the Primary Curriculum. The relationship to the Foundation Stage areas of learning and National Curriculum Programmes of Study for Science and ICT is described for each project. The projects do not provide an exhaustive or definitive list of ICT opportunities in primary science. Instead, they are tried and tested sequences of activities, adaptable across the age-range, which ensure that high quality learning in ICT is accompanied by high quality learning in science. The arrangement and availability of resources, however, still varies greatly from school to school. Some schools have invested heavily in centralised resources, setting up networked computer rooms or ICT suites. The projects are closely linked to relevant units in the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority schemes of work for science and ICT.
